Channels

Answer where they actually message you.

The Philippines had 102.3 million Messenger users in July 2026 — about 84.4% of the population and roughly 95% of everyone online. For most businesses here, the website is not the front door.

Every channel, and what it really involves

Website chat

Live within days of receiving your content.

A single script tag on any site — WordPress, Shopify, Wix, a static page, anything. No plugin, no platform lock-in, and nothing to review or approve before it can go live.

Time to live: Days

Facebook Messenger

Where most Philippine customers already start.

Connects to your existing Page. Requires Meta App Review, which currently takes about four to six weeks — the wait is on Meta’s side, not the build, which is why we file early and usually launch website chat first.

Time to live: 4–6 weeks (Meta review)

Instagram

Same setup as Messenger, no extra work.

Instagram direct messages run through the same Meta connection and the same assistant. If you are doing Messenger, Instagram costs nothing additional to add.

Time to live: With Messenger

WhatsApp

Template message fees are passed through at cost.

Meta charges per conversation for business-initiated messages. We bill those through with no markup, so the line on your invoice matches the line on Meta’s.

Time to live: 2–4 weeks

Viber

Quoted separately, because Viber charges a monthly minimum.

Viber’s business platform has a platform fee independent of usage, so it does not fit inside a flat plan. Second most used messaging app in the Philippines at roughly 71% reach, and worth it for some businesses — we will tell you honestly whether yours is one.

Time to live: Quoted per case

Why WeChat is not on that list

WeChat permits one Official Account per overseas business entity, which means it cannot be provisioned per client the way Messenger can. It is a capability we can discuss case by case, not a channel we sell as standard — and saying otherwise would be a promise we could not keep at the second client.

The 24-hour window, plainly

Meta lets a business reply freely for 24 hours after a customer messages. After that, follow-up needs either a paid template or the Human Agent tag, which extends the window to seven days for a real person. The old message tags were retired in April 2026, so any tutorial older than that teaches a pattern that no longer works.

We mention this because it shapes what automated follow-up can legitimately do, and a vendor who does not raise it either does not know or is hoping you will not ask.

Not sure which channels are worth it for you?

Ask the assistant. It will tell you when a channel is not worth the money for a business like yours.
